Project management by the Lonoke/Prairie Library System Board of Directors supported
by the City.
System will pay for building and bond funding will pay for the renovation project,
building, already purchased, will be owned by City.
System has already determined with architectural support that relocation and renovation
is the better alternative with reduced total costs rather than add space to current
building with limited parking.
Knights site on Main Street will provide more visibility on the gateway to the City
and easier access to the community.
Additional space adjacent to the Knights location may become available in the future
for expansion of city and educational facilities in partnership with other higher
Library utilization is significantly up and very important to the community.
Current library building will more than likely be used for Senior Center.
